Staff Consultant

A staff consultant is an entry-level position at McBee Associates. Staff consultants work closely with senior staff, supervisors and managers on client consulting engagements in the health care finance environment, (hospitals, multi-hospital systems, nursing homes, community-based agencies, physician group practices, rehabilitation facilities and home health agencies). Staff consultants perform account analysis, financial processing, assist in reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations for the efficient maintenance and improvement of internal, operational, and management control systems and organizational unit performance.

Particular areas of the company's expertise are accounts receivable management, third-party reimbursement, budgeting, financial analysis, and compliance. This position requires commuting to/between client sites, with out-of-town travel as needed. This is a salaried-exempt position.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Health Policy Administration with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Skills and Abilities: Working and academic knowledge of standard accounting practices/procedures. Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Training and Experience: Related accounting/financial experience preferred (internships, summer employment or part-time position while attending college. Health care financial experience is a plus). Working knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Access.

Staff Consultant is an entry-level position within McBee Associates. The consulting staff normally works closely with a senior staff or manager. The staff will be assigned specific hands-on projects. We believe this approach helps develop a strong foundation in our consulting staff. The staff will normally work at client sites.

The position requires a degree in Accounting or Business Administration. MBA or CPA is desirable. The position also requires strong communication, writing and technical skills.
