Cost Report Review

McBee Associates Inc. reviews cost reports to ensure organizations receive all the reimbursement to which they are entitled.

During this process, McBee Associates reviews expense groupings, adjustments to expenses, expense reclassification, allocation statistics, settlement data, and revenue groups on both the cost report and UB92. The review includes an examination of cost report work papers and Medicare audit adjustments, as well as an analysis of general ledger accounts. Where appropriate, McBee Associates discusses allocation statistics and organizational structures with your department heads.

Cost Report Preparation

If, like many health care institutions, your organizations has downsized and eliminated the internal staff required to prepare your cost report. McBee Associates prepares the cost report utilizing our staff or a combination of our staff and your employees. McBee Associates prepares the necessary work papers and account analysis, then we summarize the settlement data. Your information is put into a model that generates your cost report.

Medicare/Medicaid Audit Representation

McBee Associates can provide representation for the institution during intermediary audits. McBee Associates provides staff to negotiate with auditors, provide work papers and prepare documentation during the field audit. We also review adjustments and provide representation during the exit conference.

Medicare Appeals

For more than almost 30 years, McBee Associates has been involved in over 100 appeals to the PRRB. Many of these appeals have been settled before going to hearing. We prepare requests for hearings with the PRRB, and position papers, and, if necessary, provide expert testimony at the hearing. McBee Associates assists your institution in negotiating a settlement with the intermediary prior to the PRRB hearing.
